Final Part: The Embrace

Jack POV
Whew! This adventure just takes one turn after another. I guess this is a chapter full of revelations. I run into Tina’s “big sis” only to find that her name is also Tina. This certainly isn’t a coincidence. Hopefully, this final chapter will answer all questions and end this mad night. I wonder if I would rather have been caught in a zombie apocalypse.

Young Tina POV

No way-nya! Play with me!

Jack POV

Narrator. Take it away as I run away.

Narrator POV

Jack, including young Tina were taken back by this revelation. A cat girl and her older sister…with the same name. Coincidence?

“Hmph. Same name as that little tramp. Is that what you’re thinking?” older Tina said.

She suddenly lunged at the two. Jack grabbed young Tina and moved out of the way. Older Tina then jumped away and hid among the tables. After a peak to check his surroundings, Jack turned to young Tina.

“Stay here and keep quiet,” Jack whispered firmly.

Not waiting for an answer, Jack quickly somersaulted to another table. He took out his gun and looked out to the surroundings. He started scanning the room to see where she disappeared to.

CLINK!

Jack reflexively turned to the source of the noise. However, there was no one in sight. Regardless, he kept his eyes sharp for the elusive cat girl.

THUMP!

He turned, yet again, just in time to see a chair move a bit. This Tina was certainly at a different level to be able to move at incredible speed. He finally decided the stand up a little to try to get a better view of his attacker. Then, from the corner of his eye –

CLANG!

The catgirl struck him and knocked his gun out his hand. Jack’s right eye glowed red as he gave a quick kick. Older Tina, however, dodged and back flipped a few feet away from him.

“Impressive power,” commented older Tina. “You’ll make an excellent subordinate.”

“Don’t count your cats just yet,” said Jack as he lunged with another kick.

Older Tina just jumped over Jack and kicked a chair at him. Jack swung his arm and knocked it out of the way. But, because he was distracted by the chair, older Tina found an opening and attacked. Jack quickly grabbed her wrists before her claws can reach him.

“Why are you doing this?” Jack said trying to keep the claws away from himself. “What exactly are you accomplishing from all this?”

“You wouldn’t understand,” growled older Tina as she pushed against Jack. “You wouldn’t understand what I have been through. It’s all because of that stupid man he calls father.”

20 years ago

“Daddy! Please, let me out,” pleaded Tina as she banged on the cylinder glass walls that trapped her.

“You mustn’t be scared Tina,” her father said calmly as he messed with a control panel. “I’m doing this for you. You no longer need to be confined in the walls of that horrid hospital. I’ve already made some tests using strands of cat DNA. This Virus N is now the perfect cure. You’ll be as healthy and lively as ever.”

“Daddy, I’m scared,” Tina cried. “Where’s Mommy?”

“I’m afraid mommy is busy right now,” her father said. “But, I promise you’ll be out once you’ve gotten your cure. Now. For a healthy life, my Tina.”

Her father finished the last setups and pulled the level. A sort of vapor started to fill the glass tube that Tina was in cell, making her cry even more.

“Hush Tina,” her father said as he went over just in time to see Tina disappear in the vapor. “I know it’s frightening, but bear with it. Everything will go smoo – ”

Suddenly, the machine started to spasm, causing the father a great deal of alarm. He backed away as burning sparks and violent shakings occurred. Seeing that something was wrong, Tina’s father quickly went to the controls to shut down the machine. Unfortunately, the nightmare didn’t stop. He watched hopelessly until –

BOOM!

The machine exploded, pushing the father away a few feet. Fortunately, he was wearing a biochemical suit, so the virus that escaped wouldn’t infect him. Getting over the shock of the blast, he stood up slowly and came to his senses.

“Tina…Tina!” called her father as he made his way to the machine where there was nothing but broken glass.

As the vapors dissipated, he was greeted with a shock. Where Tina should have been…there were “two” Tina’s. One the way she was, while the other appeared to be in her teens. In addition, their hair had turned from brown to silver, complete with black cat ears and tail.

“Th…This wasn’t supposed to happen,” stammered her father.

“You…split in two,” said Jack in disbelief.

“Yes, that’s right,” said older Tina as she kicked Jack in the stomach and jumped out of sight. “And it wasn’t just our bodies, but also our desires. My desire? To prove my strength all over the world.”

“And I (cough) imagine that (cough) the other Tina’s (cough) is to make (cough) friends?” Jack coughed.

“Hmph, makes sense since ‘I’ was stuck in that hospital all my life with little interaction, but I couldn’t care less,” said older Tina.

Suddenly, the neko sprang out of nowhere and swiped at Jack. He barely had time to block the attack with a chair. Her claws got stuck, giving Jack the opportunity to push older Tina back onto the wall. She tried to claw at him her other hand, but the distance was too far.

“You’re strong as you are,” Jack said. “I’m sure anyone can see that. There’s no need to conquer the world just to prove that.”

“Shut UP!” yelled older Tina as she pushed Jack away and pulled her claws off the chair. “I’ve laid bed-ridden my life for too long. I’ll make myself known to the world for who I am. My army may have been converted, but I can always start over with you.”

Older Tina snapped her fingers. As if on cue, another cat girl jumped out of nowhere and attacked Jack.
Again, he catches a cat girl by her wrists, but was shocked at the familiar face.

“Emily?!” Jack exclaimed. “She got you too?”

Emily only responded with a hiss as both sides struggled.

“You see, I wanted to take pity on the one who’s mother is the type that abandons her family after one simple incident. So, I had her join me,” Tina said.

“So, she’s your step-sister,” Jack said. “I imagine this is her business for coming here.”

“Probably here to find out my parents’ scandals that were hidden from her,” older Tina said. “But, no more stalling.”

Older Tina jumped to Jack’s back side and readied her claws.

“This will just sting if you stand still.”

Before she could come closer to Jack, however, she felt something hold her foot down. It was younger Tina, hugging her legs as if to restrain her.

“Please, big sis-nya,” young Tina pleaded. “Please, stop it-nya. You’re scaring me. Nyo more fighting.”

“Unhand me you ungrateful brat,” demanded older Tina as she used her free foot and repeated stepped on her.

The pain was unbearable to the point of tears, but Tina still held on. Seeing that the situation is dire, Jack looked around for something to fight with. That’s when he saw it on the floor…his gun.

“Sorry Emily,” Jack said as he kicked her in the stomach and grabbed his gun.

Taking advantage of her dazed state, he quickly set his gun to freeze mode than kicked her onto a wall. Then, he blasted at her at her wrists and feet to restrict her movements. Jack turned around and fired at older Tina. However, she had already freed herself from young Tina and dodged. She made a quick lunge at Jack. He just managed to dodge her claws again. Unfortunately for older Tina, she didn’t notice the pile of machinery while Jack saw standing. Too late to stop, older Tina’s claws stuck into the metal. As if to make things worse, the impact also caused some of the supplies to shift and move towards her. She tried to escape, but by the time she got her claws out, it was too late. The heavy items toppled over and created a cloud of dust.

“Big sis-nya!” cried young Tina as she ran for Older Tina.

“Wait!” Jack exclaimed as he caught Tina. “It’s too dangerous.”

As the dust settled, they saw older Tina…buried under a large amount of metal and other supplies on top of her. Only her upper body was visible. Luckily, she seemed to avoid serious injuries, however, she also appeared to be unable to get out.

“Hey!” called Jack as he and young Tina ran over to Older Tina. “Are you okay?”

“Shut up!” shouted older Tina as she struggled to get out. “I don’t need your pity. I can get out by myself.”

Jack just shook his head as he watched older Tina push herself with no success.

“Big sis,” said Tina. “Please, let us help-nya.”

…

“No.”

The next part shocked Jack. Older Tina started crying.

“I don’t want to be weak anymore,” cried older Tina as she continued to struggle. “I’ve done nothing but lay in bed. Not one day I could have went to the outside world. My father built this school as a front to create a virus that made me even worse. My mother then sees me as some freak and abandons us. Then, my father had to die a few months ago. All I have is myself and despair. I…really am weak.”

“Big sis!” cried younger Tina as she did her best to hug her older counterpart. “Please don’t cry or I’ll cry too- nya. You still have me. You were a meanie, but I hate seeing you in pain-nya.”

“…I did all those things to you and you still don’t quit,” Tina sniffed. “I don’t understand you at all.”

…

CREAK!

The three turned to see a damaged shelf of chemicals break, sending the vials crashing onto the hard floor. The chemicals, then started to mix and create a vapor. The group didn’t have enough time the cover their mouths and started coughing. Jack began to feel dizzy and fell to the floor. Before he lost consciousness, he saw both Tinas glowing and writhing in pain. Then, all was black.

In a dark void.

“…I really am weak.”

“Big sis-nya.”

“…You.”

“Um. Why do say you’re weak-nya?”

“You wouldn’t understand. You may be my other half, but you have no memories of what happened to us. And after all these years. We haven’t aged one bit because of Virus N. Yet, here I am, a pitiful kitten.”

“…What’s wrong with being a kitten-nya?”

“What?”

“I love being all cute and cuddly. I love being happy. I love being loved. I love loving. I love being just a little kitty.”

“Isn’t that nice?”

“Big sis-nya?”

“What?”

“I just thought-nya. We’re halves of ‘Tinya.’ Maybe you’re not as strong because you make up half of her?”

“..Just half, huh?”

“You’ve always thought about nyothing but being strong-nya. But, I always wanted to see you happy. A smile-nya.”

“…You’re right. The only thing I had in mind is conquering the world. But, then what? I guess I never thought about that. Being simply half is…limiting. I also want to be happy…like you. Um…”

“Hmm?”

“Th…Th…Th…Thank you…nya.”

“…(giggle) You’re welcome big sis-nya!”

A white light envelops the void.

7:30 AM

“Hello-nya?” said a familiar voice.

Jack groaned as he finally woke up. He was startled to see two people, or rather catgirls next to him: Emily, and older Tina.

“You,” started Jack.

“It’s okay-nya,” older Tina said. “I’m… one person again-nya.”

“…What do you mean?” Jack asked.

“I can’t quite explain-nya,” Tina said. “After inhaling that gas, the two sides of me seemed to fuse back into my original body. My minds began to create an understanding for each other and returned me to my original state-nya. Well...plus the ears and tail-nya.”

“Hmm,” said Jack. “Emily?”

“Yes-nya,” Emily said.

“Umm. You feeling alright?” Jack asked hesitantly. “Still got cat ears and tail.”

“Actually, better than ever-nya,” answered Emily. “Being part cat is actually pretty cool. What’s even cooler is that I actually had a sister, even if she is born with another dad-nya.”

Tina looked apologetic. “But, I treated you so terribly-nya…I’m sorry-nya.”

Emily gave her sister a hug. “I understand. I forgive you-nya.”

Emily then, broke the hug with Emily and went over to Jack.

“And thank you too, Jack-nya,” Tina said as she hugged and kissed him, causing him to flinch. “Don’t worry. After becoming one, the virus’s effects wore off-nya. Because I satisfied my desires, there little reason for the virus to linger about-nya.”

“…Your father certainly made one interesting virus,” Jack remarked. “And I certainly never heard of one where it responds to one’s emotions. However, it seems that the cat traits aren’t going anywhere.”

“That’s something even science can’t explain-nya,” Tina smiled. “But, I don’t mind.”

“So, what’s gonna happen now?” Jack asked. “What will happen to the remaining catgirls.

“Nyaaaa,” pondered Tina. “I think I can make it work-nya.”

One week later

8:45 AM

“Are you sure-nya?” said a giddy adult catgirl. “I could take you to your destination-nya.”

“That’s alright,” Jack said as he held out a few one dollar bills. ”Here’s your tip.”

“Thankies-nya,” she said as she accepted them.

Jack got out of a white limousine and began walking down Seaside City, where there was a bunch of cat girls celebrating. Jack smiled a bit as he walked down the streets. Just a week ago, he walked in what would have been called the neko outbreak. But, now, it’s a city that’s been reborn as a paradise for these nekos under the leaderships of Tina and Emily. As he passed the citizens, he was greeted with a warm welcome. He eventually found himself in the same park where the whole chase began.

“It’s still funny how I was actually caught in all of this,” Jack thought. “But, what’s in the past is in the past.”

“Hey, Jack,” said a familiar voice.

He turned to meet the owner’s voice. Standing under the tree standing was Emily. She was wearing a sailor school uniform and seemed to have several cats around her.

“Hey, Emily,” said Jack. “How’s your new life here?”

“Pretty good-nya,” responded Emily. “I feel more at home and the nyu school is treating me well-nya. We’re still trying to get some males to come-nya.”

“In all honesty, I’m actually surprised the town could restored so quickly,” Jack said. “You and your sister did a good job.”

“Why thank you-nya,” said another voice.

Jack turned yet again to see Tina in white dress and high heels.

“Hey, Tina,” Jack said. “How goes it?”

“It’s great-nya,” Tina said gleefully. “Thanks to everyone’s cooperation, we were able to fix the damages to everything the outbreak did that week ago.”

“Good,” Jack said. “So, what did you bring me for that you would send a limo?”

Tina just giggled and grabbed his arm. “Just follow me.”

Tina dragged Jack with Emily following.

A few minutes later, Jack was greeted to a grand site. In front of him was a large cruise ship with a bunch of party streamers decorating the ship.

“I felt bad that your raffle went to waste because of that incident-nya,” said Tina. “So, Emily and I managed to have this prepared-nya.”

“…I…I can only say…Thanks,” Jack said awestruck that two cat girls could prepare a grand cruise.

Emily giggled as she and her older sister grabbed Jack by his arms, “You can thank us after we give you the best week of your life.”

Jack let himself be escorted to the ship, looking forward to the great week he’ll be spending with his two new friends.

The outbreak, is now truly over.
